Farage didn't really beat anyone in Clacton. The other parties forfeited.
Look past the jokes about the man in the bin costume and there's something here worth worrying about, whatever you make of Reform. A seat in Parliament was up for grabs and the main parties didn't fight for it. They declined to stand, let the result happen, and then called the win hollow. That's hardening into the establishment's whole method against the populist right: don't argue, don't contest, simply refuse to dignify it, and hope it fades. It doesn't fade. It takes the seat.
